Kasseler Sparkasse will demolish its current main branch on Kölnische Straße and replace it with a new building. This appropriation is intended to cover construction costs of 51 million euro. The Wolfsschlucht / Ständeplatz / Opernstraße and Kölnische Straße / Spohrstraße locations, the customer hall and the consulting center for private companies and companies are to be brought together in the new Sparkassen headquarters. One reason for the new building is that Kasseler Sparkasse has an overhang of space, which it states with 40 percent. Of a total of currently 40,000 square meters, only 23,000 are needed. With the new building operating costs should be reduced and pending conversion measures should be bypassed.
